The World Tounament Vintage Baseball at its finest

Love watching Vintage base ball! We have been bit by the bug. The 1860’s would have been my time for baseball. This time period of the sport they were true gentlemen. They played to win and we’re not disrespectful to their teammates or the other team. These guys play one heck of a game. To watch them play is so much fun! They are out there for the love of the game.
Rules of the game
No bunting, sliding or running out of the base path;
No uncivil language, spitting, alcohol consumption, chewing of tobacco, wagering; The ball is delivered underhand in a shallow arc to allow good striking.
This is our team.

I love that the Tallykeeper is hand placing numbers on the scoreboard. No giant megatron advertising anything.

I thought this picture was great the lady in the front row was dressed in time period. Everything looks like time period, even the water cans on the benches.

This is the traveling museum of vintage baseball.
Everything here was from the games in the 1860’s the bat was a trophy and the blue book was the rules handbook.

This is a comparison of today’s baseball to the vintage baseball. Todays baseballs have balanced multi material core and are made out of two pieces of leather.  The vintage ballls were made with a cork and one piece of leather and sewn up like a lemon peel.

The ball of the 1860s was a bit larger, heavier and softer than the modern baseball.

We had a beautiful day for baseball. While our team may not have brought us a victory today, we still got to see some great baseball and see some amazing plays!

This is us with “Yeti” in our t-shirts supporting Black Flags of Drovertown.
